• the village has town water supplied from Cowra Shire Council

• the village garbage is collected fortnightly by Weddin Shire Council

• village recycling centre serviced by Weddin Shire Council

• Post Office in the village, which also sells basic foodstuffs

• Anglican and Uniting Churches in the village

• Mobile Day Care - comes to the area weekly from Cowra Early Childhood Services. 

• Shamrock Hotel in the village for drinks, meals and social gatherings

• Soldiers' Memorial Hall with kitchen and supper room available for event hire

• NO public transport to or from the village, but a weekly mini bus service to the local towns is in development, depending on demand

• School Bus service within the area for the Greenethorpe School and to the High Schools in Young, Cowra and Grenfell

• Community Transport service available

• NO ADSL broadband, but satellite is available in town, and wireless in some places

• NO mobile phone reception in town, but available on most farms

• 40km to Cowra or Young, 30km to Grenfell

• IGA, Coles, Woolworths, Aldi supermarkets in those towns

• medical and dental services and hospitals also available in those towns

• community health nurse visits the village once each month

• Jellybeans Playgroup - meets at the hall fortnightly during school terms, depending on numbers

• Weddin Shire Library books at Post Office

• free use of tennis courts - occasional working bees are held to maintain the courts

• exercise classes - seasonal and depending on demand, eg we have had a visiting gym instructor run circuits classes, and a local person run yoga classes

• theatrical group - recently formed, first performance due in Spring 2009

• kookaburras, flocks of sulphur-crested cockatoos and galahs

• lots of peace and quiet
